Among other things, this week I finished up a monstrance veil. It’s about 33″ high and almost a semi circle in form. The ‘difficult’ bit was the curved hem, stitched by hand of course.

Perhaps I should have ironed it before I took that photograph? Oh well.
It’s actually easier to sew a curve by hand than by machine because the tension can be adjusted with every stitch and you just ease it in all round.
I was unsure about embellishment… is any really needed… so I asked Father. He rather liked the idea of something simple. Here it is, sitting quietly in the corner.
