Making altar linens by hand is the main thing. Selecting the linen and preparing it; the dozen or so steps to get to the actual sewing. I rather enjoy the process! Why stitch by hand? Why not…!?
After much resistance to the suggestions of a website, I have capitulated and here is this little blog. It’s about church sewing and a way to share with those who may be interested in such an endeavour. Church sewing or ecclesiastical needlework, well, like most things it can go in many directions, but remember that linens are the main thing! They wear out after all, and need replacing, so if you are interested and do only one thing, let it be the making of linens for the celebration of Mass.
I’ll try to post once a week or so. To share some pictures and a few words. Thank you for reading.
